We welcome the peaceful conduct of the presidential and legislative elections held in Guinea-Bissau on 13 April 2014. We congratulate all national and international parties, especially the people of Guinea-Bissau, who contributed to the successful holding of the elections.

We hope that political stability in Guinea-Bissau will be maintained after this election process which represents the first step towards restoring democratic order.

Turkey observes the developments in Guinea-Bissau with interest and will continue to provide support to the efforts for the establishment of constitutional order, state-building process and socio-economic development in the country, in coordination with the international community.
